Level up with the Codex decentralised storage protocol newsletter. Each month, we will explore key developments, updates, and insights. Together, we will craft a future where you own your data. It is time to end censorship.

Research and Development

The team is gearing up for the full launch of the testnet this month. The latest version of Codex can be accessed using the Codex Testnet Starter documentation.

Current work and milestones involve continuing to develop guides and docs to help devs understand how to build on top of Codex or leverage its use cases. These will be published later on docs.codex.storage

Other technical highlights include a continuous review of the Codex White Paper, which underscores and defines the idea of a 'decentralised durability engine' (DDE). One primary goal of the DDE is to ensure long-term data persistence guarantees. Expect more information on the White Paper to be released soon.

Productionalising the codebase for the marketplace and client team will also stabilise the DDE and prepare it for scalability and growth. The marketplace team's work on tokenisation coordination and basic marketplace interactions continues. For the client, the team is focusing on hardening it and ingesting product feedback. Work continues on the proving system, especially on benchmarking proof aggregation and the frequency of proofs analysis.

Events

Hacker House Goa: Codex DevRel Guru presented a talk on the topic ‘Self-custodial and censorship-resistant data durability engine’ at Hacker House Goa. More than 100 developers attended the event.

ETHTokyo: Guru also participated in the ‘Bridging data from web2 to web3’ panel at Eth Tokyo, along with co-panelists from ETHStorage and Privacy Scaling Explorations (Ethereum Foundation). Feedback regarding the various pain points in the currently available web3 storage SDKs was a hot topic.

Partnerships

Codex entered a new partnership with Conduit, the rollup framework and rollup-native cloud platform. Codex will deliver its archival storage solutions to rollups leveraging the platform. The partnership is intended to prepare Codex for entering the market and offering services to the rollup ecosystem. Conduit states that apps listed on their marketplace get instant distribution to every chain deployed.

Conduit provides one-click integrations for rollups. Click install, and the integration is complete. Codex is excited about the partnership's prospects and seeks to establish deep connections in the industry to bring archival storage solutions to life for the Ethereum modularisation roadmap.
